My c max is 7 years old and has been fantastic till now! The engine is really racing especially when coming to a stop. I have taken it to a local garage and they said there is no error code (?), however they believe it might be the throttle casing. They suggested I take it to Ford for a full diagnostic check. Ford also could not findan error code and offered to take the engine apart to find the problem (250 plus the cost of fixing the problem). Please help

The wonders of modern technology,if there's no error code no one knows what to do! back in the day they'd have have adjusted your fuel mixture lubed your throttle cable and sent you on your way a happy man. Oh how times have changed!
Sorry I can't be more help, although I'm sure there are people on this forum who can. It may be helpful if you could state the model of c-max you have and whether it's petrol or diesel.

That said though Sammylad...there are alot more sensors and diagnostics on modern day vehicles that are suppose to be able to see these problems. Sadly as this proves, it doesn't always work.....
