Hi allHaven't posted for a while but read daily updates with interest.I did an oil change a couple of weeks ago (oil, filter & drain plug) but noticed today that there is some grey sludge on the dipstick. The oil used was Castrol Magnatec SAE 5W/30 A1 which apparently is Ford approved WSS-M2C913-B. The old oil came out jet black.I can't believe that even a non expert like myself could do this to an engine.Any thoughts on the sludge please. Thanks Paul

How long had the oil that came out been in and did you get it properly warm before draining. Do you have any idea what the oil that came out was originally.
I'm just wondering if not all of the old oil came out or if there has been some slight reaction between the two for some reason

Not quite sure what to suggest except perhaps another change of oil.

Hi RichardNot sure how old the oil was or what kind of oil it was. I did warm the oil before the change. I'm fairly sure that all the old oil came out as I left it draining for a couple of hours. I think I will hand it over to a garage to look at.ThanksPaul
