I have a CMax Zetec registered Nov 2011. Can anyone explain the function of the two red strip lights either side of the spectacles holder in front of the rear view mirror? There seems to be no rhyme or reason when the lights come on, and at night it is infuriating to see 4 images of the lights in the rear view mirror, and detracts from cars behind. Is there any way they can be turned off as there seems to be no use for them?!Peegravy

I always thought they were part of the ambient lighting that comes standard on Titanium. It looks like are on Zetec trim models too? On Titanium you can switch off ambient lighting using the right side steering wheel controls under settings-lighting-ambient lighting. Whether you have this option though I don't know.
