Hi all

Im finding my new Titanium model a very hard ride over the streets of south London. Bumps and humps that I previously didnt feel are now very intense.

Would I be right in saying this is a function of the 17" wheels? If so, what should I expect to pay for replacing all 4 wheelsand hubcaps with 16". I assume I dont need to go to a ford dealer for this.

Seems a shame to replace them after only 500 miles, but its really beginning to irritate me!

Thanks in advance

Hello, I had a zetec with 16" wheels before my present ghia sporting the 17"( pain in the butt to clean) ones.
I agree the ride is harsher and did consider getting them changed but have turned up the radio instead!!
Whilst not making any difference to the comfort the distraction concentrates the mind elsewhere.

Its more the pain in the butt elsewhere that is making me want to change!

The 16" original wheel trims are around 13 from Ford
The 16" steel wheels are the same as the FIVE STUD Mondeo wheels and can be got for a 10 without tyres from a breakers.
205/55V 16 tyres are around 70 - 80 a piece unless you can do better
Ypu may be able to offset some of this by selling the orignals

I have 16s on my 54 plate with new Bridgestone tyres I don't mind swapping over if you wanted to drive up to Brum?

Alternatively drive around the potholes holes than into them

I've got 17 inch alloys on my c-max and never really noticed the ride on the car, mind you most of the speedbumps in my area are the cube variety and you can drive over the top of them, compared to the last car I find the ride quite comfortable.
