I was gonna head this thread as Got my C-Max today, but as it's primarily gonna be driven by the missus and it's her name on the log book AND it's Sunday as I write this when we picked it up yesterday....

We chopped in the Focus and picked up a very clean and well valeted C-Max 1.6 Vetec in Met Silver yesterday.

To say I'm impress is an understatement, and the thoughts of taking it down to France this August for the family holiday excite me like Garry Glitter outside a primary school.

I do have to say that one of the first things I looked for were the foot well bulb holders for the simple mod we all know and love, but alas... nadda. No wiring or holders to be seen. Oh well. Not the end of the world as I'm pretty handy with the old LED lighting so will be working on my own mod there. Watch this space.

I was surprised how much higher up it feels to drive than a standard Focus, even though in reality it probably isn't THAT much of a difference, but the interior controls are a massive improvement on our previous car.

A mate of mine did say the other day that Ford have come a LONG way in the past few years in refining their cars and my initial reaction yesterday was "you don't say". Its a very smooth drive and the controls took about 5 minutes to familiarise myself with.

The one thing I did have to spend a bit of time trying to figure out was why when you turn off the ignition and remove the key, the radio and mileometer display stays lit. I thought I'd left something o at first but have figured out it just stays on. Not a great design in my books but I ain't gonna loose any sleep of that.

On the whole, I wish we'd have got one years ago and look forward to clocking up many happy miles in it. Would certainly recommend it as a family car for anyone.

Think all it needs now is a C-Max sticker in the back window. Dan?... lol

Hi Mate,

Know how you feel mate, I too owned a couple of years ago, before crossing over to a Skoda Fabia vRS, before coming back to the Ford.

One of the main things that brought me back to the Ford was I wanted more space to carry my mountain bikes in the car, needless to say I've not had them in the car but I was not keen on the current focus looks wise, so decided to go for a C-Max.

When we first picked up the car and for the first week I was wary of the height and driving it hard, but I've since got used to it, but I have to admit compared to owning a Focus and being in Fords over this sort of age compared to a few years ago the quality has come on leaps and bounds and feels well put together.

I too agree that the display is a bit of a problem staying on, but it does go out after 10 minutes or so.

Glad that your enjoying the C-Max Ownership.

Still yet to get ours, the Steatership physically has it now, Ford postponed delivery 4 times this month alone with no explanation, to say I was a little unhappy is an understatement! have raped as much as poss from them as compo. A refund on the Towbar wiring I`ve bought wouldn`t go amiss though!!!
Hopefully this Wednesday, not holding my breath....
First Mods, Fit Towbar, Retrofit B`tooth ( assuming wiring is there ), LED No plate lamps and fit my Owners club sticker ( Bought ages ago, last one, sorry! )

Here`s hoping you get delivery soon.
As for the radio & dash display staying on,they all do it.I`m not sure, but I think on later models (mine`s a 53 plate) you could adjust the time it stayed illuminated.
