Hi my cmax runs out of fuel when showing half full I then go and fill up but it will only take 32 ltrs I get about 310 miles before need fill up any help to sort out why

The tank capacity is about 55 litres
I presume when you say "runs out" that the fuel gauge shows empty
You probably have a fault with either the tank sender or the fuel gauge itself in the instrument cluster

no it shows half full and there is no damage or dints in the bottom of the tank runs I mean that stalls and no fule will come out and to fill up it will only take 32 ltrs

I don't know (because i'm too lazy and old to lie underneath at this point) to see if the tank is metal, but in the olden days when this occurred it was sometimes because a vented fuel filler breather hole was blocked or the wrong type of filler cap had been fitted.
In some instances the tank crumpled and thus had less capacity.

After it has stalled what do you do to get it to run again so as to be able to go to fill it up
You don't mention having to do anything so I presume it restarts reasonably easily

No it will not pull fuel through on the battery I have to tow the car when I am trying to see if it will go to empty I carry two cans of fuel

Hi it is a plqastic tank and there is no damage to it, the filler cap is the right one thank you for your reply

I dont know much about cars, having only passed a year ago. But something like that should be taken to a garage, is it still under waranty?
Have you got it sorted now?

Hi, new to the forum have read messages regarding fuel tank etc., the same thing happens with my c-max - have you managed to solve the problem if you have please could you let me know what the problem was.

Petrol tank on mine is pressurised. Perhaps yours should be but is not?
