fitting K&N air filter - Ford C-Max Forum

Thinking of fitting a K&N filter in my 1.8 57 reg mk2 C Max , it is the cone shaped filter, my question is does the top of the airbox have to go back on or is it needed to keep the filter in place, i think you can leave the older panel type ones off to gain more airflow not sure on the cone ones.

Just replace your standard panel filter with a K&N panel filter, you will notice the difference!

Just a slight qualifier to the above

If you have a diesel then the K&N panel filter ought to make perhaps 10% difference to the MPG as it appears to allow the turbo to spin up just that little bit faster. I seem to remember that the filters on several petrol engined CMax were also replaced and didn't show any significant improvement
