So I went food shopping on Friday night and on the way out popped into get fuel!!!!(I now call it fuel and not Petrol) Without thinking started filling up with petrol into my tdci engine! I put 3.33L in and the penny dropped. O F*&K. Pushed the car off the pump into a space and called the rac. 3 hours later they turned up and drained my take (179.00) just got lucky that I did not drive off. Any way my point is the rac man showed me a device called fuelsure!! Best idea ever. Has anyone fitted one, I am going to get one this weekend before I make the mistake again and start the engine this time!!

You had a very lucky escape there.
I`ve heard of these fuelsure devices but never used one.

Nice one Gareth,
I have been driving a diesel for nearly twenty years. In the early days the assistant, at the pumps, would warn you that you were about to put diesel into your car (when you could find a garage selling diesel). Nowadays many, many more people use diesel after having been using petrol for years. I have now passed on your advice to all of my friends and family. I didn't want to have to say that I already knew how to prevent it, if it ever happens to them.
What a great forum!

Hi Not sure what the problem is with a little petrol in with diessl, the original diesal golf in the winter you were supposed to put 10% petrol in tank!My new Cmax grande has a device fitted so that only a diesel pump nozzle will fit, they even supply a plastic funnel so you can fill up from a can!Peter

I had the same thought. If you go onto their website there is a very good explanatory video. The device fits on the top of the tank filler and can only be opened by use of a diesel nozzle. The smaller petrol nozzle will not open the device – very clever!
Have a look at: < http://www.stopdieselmisfuelling.co.uk/ >

It is a shocking pink, though, but it is under the tank flap, so could be shielded from view, if you wish.

Ok so i got some time to fit this, It is not a two min job like thay say but once fitter is very good, looking back i can not see why i made such a meal off it. It fits well and (with a socket set to tighten it up) as you cant do it by hand. all new diesels should have this, best 30 i think i have spent on my car and will be taking this off my car when selling.
