Well, on the plus side I managed 6000 miles in my C-Max (2004, 2.0 TDCi Zetec) before anything went wrong.
Anyway, last Friday I set of driving it, some very nasty noises coming from under the bonnet. Opened it, found that the engine cover had come loose. Seems to have come off the holders and dislodged the big plastic pipe at the top of the engine (Intercooler pipe?), a bit of oil had sprayed out.
Now, I replaced the pipe, and it seems to have stopped leaking oil. But the engine coveer seems knackered (technical term..). How critical is it? Should I be getting a new one?
