We're still waiting for the DVLA to process the cherished plate transferonto our CMax. The papers accordingto the garage were withDVLA last Friday and with the bank holidayweekend coming up we are looking at Monday week in a best case scenario.
Why it now takes 10 working days to process a cherished transfer belies all belief - in the not too distant past you could get it done at the counter in about half an hour.

they do tend to take there time I have found over the years its a bit dearer but quicker if when you have decided that you are going to change cars is to put your number on retenstion then armed with the retenstion certificatego to your local office and they sometimes do it there and then at worst you only have to weight a couple of days depends how busy they are when you go in
or if buying new just give the garage your retention cert to them and they put your number on and do the paper work with dvla

We have done it on retention previously. The problem is that this vehicle is changed quite frequentlyevery12 -18 months although this time it is only 9 months. The local office is 45 miles away so 1 transfer is 2 journeys and nearly 200 miles........
