As anybody else heard about the new EU law about anycar Made after 7thFeb 2011 must have DRL? <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />
I called the Dept of Transport who confirmed this.
The only thing is I'm waiting for my New C-Max to come this month, and I asked the sales person has my car got DRL and they didn't even know anything about it.

Does anybody else know about this?

Hi Gazza-CH,
Are you on about the Auto on the headlight switch?

it actually depends on when the vehicle is type approved (Homologated) and if even when they knew the legislation was imminent they would incure the extrea un-necessary costs

I can tell youy that they are not fitted to the Grand C Max Titanium that was delivered on the 3rd March 2011. Surprised as the car now looks dated.

I had a look at my new C-Max in the dealers compound at the beginning of the week and nope I haven't got the DRL's on mine either. I pick my car up tomorrow Friday so it should be nice to see how it drives, I have had the 18” alloys put on so it should be interesting. A few thing I notice just by sitting in the new C-Max from my present C-Max was the steering wheel is smaller and also the seats are a lot more support around the sides, also that large OSF pillar is a big blind spot. I will be back when I know how it drives

Sorry Mark W for the slow reply, in my case (Swiss spec.) Daytime lights are part of the specification, though what a lot of people mean is that there are extra lights fitted eg LEDs that run in the daytime, so that clouds the issue as many are talking about two different things.

Hi Gazza,
I have taken this point re DRL on the C-Max with my Cousin who is a director with Ford Uk, it looks although the rest of the models, Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo have the DRL's the C-Max is most probably looking at 2012 in the UK, but you can always buy DRL to put on yourselves. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

I have looked at the front lights and there seems to be two indicator bulbs one is round and the other torpedo shaped Why two I wonder? I understand that ford were planning on selling the C max around the world. And that it was the volume that would bring down the cost of options. However, why do the Americans get a C max with the choice of 7 ambient colours inside, a foot operated sensor for the rear electric tailgate (if your arms are full of stuff) and keyless entry. All these things could be offered for the UK market.
