Disabling Alarm

I occasionally need to leave my dog in my 2008 CMAX while I pop into a shop, etc. How can I lock the car but disable the alarm? I have tried locking the doors manually but this still sets the alarm. The owner's manual dosn't seem very helpful.

On my GCMax the method is to look at the small screen in the centre of the instruments while switching the ignition off. If the "interior scan on" is highlighted then use the RHside steering wheel control to move to "interior scan off" and then get out of the car.
Confusingly the manual refers to this as "full guard" and "reduced guard".
Hope this helps.

try this:

Britain and Ireland only
The interior sensing alarm is armed
together with the central locking
To deactivate the interior sensors
Vehicles without keyless entry
Press the upper part of the switch
next to the driver’s door handle.
