Sorry if this is old hat, but as a newbie could someone inform me if the above item is common on all TDCi's or is this something that was added to newer models.Mine is a 1.6 TDCi Ghia and I'm not sure whether it has one or not. Thanks in advance.

Not all had it no, well not the earlier ones anyway. Check your log book under emissions, it'll either say EEC 2000 (i think ) or Stage IV. Stage IV means it has it, EEC means it doesn't.

I dont know if mine has one or not, looking at the Registration Certificte under Emissions it gives :-

V1 CO 0.092
V2
V3 NOx 0.344
V4 HC+NOx 0.367
V5 particulates 0.025

All units are g/km or g/kwh

CO2 is 148 G/KM but no mention of EEC 2000 or Stage IV anyone know if I have a Diesel Partictulate Filter

There are 2 ways to tell:-
1. Have a look at your drivers door opening sticker:- then compare with this:-

2. Go to this sitehttp://www.etis.ford.com/. Click on "Vehicle" (near the top of the page) and enter either your Registration number or your V.I.N. If the Emission says "2000 EEC (EEC7)" then it does not have DPF.

148g means no DPF. If it had one it would be 154g.

Well, thanks for the info Rob and others. From all that it would appear that mine does not have a DPF, not sure whether I should laugh or cry now

In some countries...In others with dpf you pay 50% road tax
I also read somewhere (dont have tome to find the source) that a DPF slightly increase fuel consumption or something.
