Hi folks

Just bought a 2006 2.0 Gha Automatic. Really liking the car, but ABSOLUTELY HATE that fake wallnut strip above the glovebox and around the gearbox. Anyone ever changed it ? Is it easy ? Where can I get replacement trim ?

Thanks !

It can be done. Gearstick one just pulls out. The glovebox one is harder. I'm not sure you can buy just the trim though...have to check with Ford for that.

But you take out the glovebox and persuade the old one out and put the new one in.

It is very easy to do. I changed my trim on my o4 c max ghia when I got it as the wood is just horrible I think.

I changed the gear knob and surround and the dash trim for the zetec silver all very easy to change.

Thanks for the reply ! Glad I'll be able to ditch the wood. Did you get the trim from Ford, or from a website (and if a website, which one ?) Did the strip in from of the passanger seat just lever off ?

Cheers !

Yes you can buy the brushed ally trim from ford.
When i get in this afternoon i'll look up the finis code and price for you.

Alternatively have a look on fleaBay as theres a couple of cmax's that are being broken up

try
www.pasionauto.co.uk
or
www.directcarparts.co.uk
The second place definately has different types, just follow the screen menu (ie type in make/model etc).
Both are good on prices
Good hunting

...actually, one last question for mjshort79

Is the trip above the glovebox held on with glue, of clips ? How did you remove it without scratching / damaging the rest of the dash ?

Thanks !
