Hi there my first post I'm soon going to be a proud owner of a 2008 1.6 zetec cmax and I have just one question at the moment. I want to replace the stereo with my own unit a pioneer avh2000bt double din unit but I've been informed that the c Mac runs on can bus? Does anyone know what wiring adaptors are needed and is it something I can do or am I going to need a professional to do it? I've always fitted radios before for myself but never come across a can bus system. Any help is much appreciated

I fitted a jvc double din to my 2007 c max titanium. you should be able to get a harness adapter from halfords. or you can get something like this

If your radio cage doesn't fit you may also need a 3rd party fitting kit. An internet search will bring up quite a few suppliers. you will lose your steering wheel controls unless you buy the appropriate kit for silly money.
I found that the harness had a different fitting to the radio and I had to cut and spice the wires. Other than that I was quite a simple process. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE before you take the ford radio out.

Good Luck
