Just bought a 2007 C-Max (57 plate reg Sept 07) and looking for a towbar to hitch a small trailer.Problem is that there was a change in 2007 to the C-Max and a different towbar fitting. How do I find if mine is the early or late 2007 version ??Google was no help

Hi, I know of no change to Towbar fittings between the pre 07 and post 07 MY's. My towbar was fitted on an earlier model and fits mine fine.I can only assume the difference to be the way it fits around the bumper, maybe one has a slightly deeper bumper?? Or maybe its just the wiring that differs?

Thanks for the info.I do believe that the 08 had a far deeper rear bumper than the early 07, so, as you say, that could be the only difference.THe bar I am looking at is for the "facelift" 07 version but after your info I think it may fit the "pre-facelift (but not vice versa).

your car is the facelift model as mine is and yes the bumper is deeper than pre facelift model.

Even though it is 57 registered (Sept) I think it is the earlier version.Ex mobility so probably bought cheaper at end of run, but only 9500 on the clock.I am assuming an 08 towbar will fit this.Anyone know different.

Hi guys,

picking up my 57 plate C max tomorrow, and am looking at either getting a tow bar fitted, or fitting one myself. Any advice on places to buy, respective fitting costs and recommended places in North West England would be most welcome.

Am a reasonably competent individual, however not sure regarding vehicle electrics and the like. Any and all advice welcomed.

Cheers Richard, just checked the link through their website and coming in at 344 fitted for a basic flange ball. Seems a bit steep to me. Looking at them on e-bay for around 80 - 100 supply only obviously.

Is there really 200 ish quids worth of labour needed to fit one?
