Hi all. I'm in the process of buying a 2007 c-max zetec 1.8. I'm really looking forward to it, but the standard 6000 series stereo is really weak. Is it possible to fit a 6006e from say a focus or mondeo into the double din slot so it works off of the wheel buttons? I'm after a multiple disc cd changer with a bit more power and quality. But it must fit perfectly. I want oem appearance.

Also, what other oem options are people going for?

That old black one? Noooo far better choices to go for.
This one is the one up from standard and often comes as standard in the titanium models:

However it's single disc.
Or theres this one:

Which is multidisc - some also have DAB fitted and USB.
Or the first C-Maxs had this stereo which is thepredecessorof the one just above

I'll warn you now though, there are subtle differences in the outside shape of the headunits. The second one I've linked to is the new shape focus one. You can tell because it has tabs on the outside that allow it to be bolted into the dash. The 3rd one is the mondeo shape that has a tapered black rim (you can just about make it out from the pics). The one you need for a C-Max is a square block like the first one. The headunits however are all indentical inside it's just the outside packaging that differs.
All the above will work with standard steering controls.

BTW, I'm not related to any of those sellers, just examples pulled to show you differences.

So which ones do fit exactly? Am I right in assuming that one of the Sony ones with the shiny front from a focus will fit exactly? If so, which models of focus? I like the Sony 6 disc changers, but I assume the mondeo versions won't fit properly?

One's like The first one - that have smooth outside edges (no tabs to bolt through) and not tapered sides.
"Sony ones with a shiny front"......I need to see a pic.

Only the top one fits. If it's like the bottom two then it won't.

So if I find a stereo from another ford which ones do fit? Focus? If so which Mark? Fiesta? Fusion? Mondeo?

I'll then keep an eye on flea bay until what I want pops up.

All I know is the one in a 55 plate Focus fit. The latest Focus headunits don't fit.
Best bet is just look on ebay and look at the pictures.
