Bad connection on rear speakers

The Sound system on my 2005 Ford focus C max 1.6 LX (2005) is great when its working but since last year it has been playing up. I put a CD in and the sound sounded odd. The sound was coming out of the 2 front speakers but not the back so i had a faff about with the settings on the stereo but no change at all. so i stripped one of the doors down to check the connection to the speaker. I took the cable off and put it back on. and it worked. but after a few weeks it stopped working again. Is it worth bending the little metal prongs inside the speaker connecter to make it work? Please help!

I presume the the connector is a small "spade" type push fit in which cas a slight squeeze of the connector to make a tighter fit may be appropriate

Depending on what you have available you may be able to check the speaker itself from a known source and thus rule out any problems with the wiring inbetween "head" and speaker
