I have had my CMAX 04 plate 1.8petrol for about 14months now.Ever since we have had it,I feel its not right(if that makes sense!).I have had a parking sensor fault, starting fault, idling fault, boot lock fault, bonnet lock fault.EPB fault(one wheel locked on)and even the gears dont change smoothly.
I got to say,I hate the car,but cant afford to get rid of it and its just as well my wife drives it,cos I dont think I would.I have had several cars through the years, but never had the problems like this one has.I have even got a Focus on a Treg, that starts first time and had minor problems due to wear and tear, but I can live with that.
Its like waiting for a time bomb to go off for the next problem.I drove it the weekend and the gears just dont change smoothly, bit hard to get into 3rd and just sounds clonky. Is it me or is this normal?. Might seem I have a right downer on the car and I have.Love the look of it and has plenty of space, but just feel its a "Bad Apple".

The Friday afternoon special feeling! I had 2 of them. A 2001 Audi A4 that creaked and groaned and drove like a dog and a 2003 Fiat Stilo Abarth on which everything failed occasionally and then got better so no permanent fix worked.

My cmax occasionally throws eml errors that then just go away. Tis a side effect of excessive computer giggery pokery!

I think your right,it must be a "Friday Afternoon Special!,shame as it is a nice car.I have always liked Fords and most of my cars have been, escorts, fiestas, sierras. In the "old days",I used to be able to work on a car,but unless you have a laptop to plug it into, you dont stand a chance. So anything thats now needs doing,I have to pay for someone else to do.
