Aftermarket Stereo Problems.

Hi all, I'm a new member and need some advice. I recently replaced my Sony factory head unit in my 58 plate C-max 2.0 titainium auto with a new Alpine single disc cd player. After fitting the Alpine i noticed that the computer on the dash stays on all the time. Before fitting the Alpine the computer would go off about 10-15 mins after the doors were locked. I've checked all the wiring and everything seems to be ok. I used an iso connecting lead from Halfords to join into the Ford wiring so no wires have been cut into etc. I've spoken to my local Ford dealer about it and they say aftermarket radio's can't be fitted to c-max's etc, but i've never come across this before. Can anyone suggest anything.
