Smile 2011 CMAX Radio

I have a 2011 CMax with the standard radio (not sony and no Sat-Nav), that likes to cut out every 10 seconds or so. On closer investigation, the sound doesn't completely cut out, just go very very quiet while the rest of the radio seems ok - screen is still on, fucntions still work etc. it does this on every input (FM, DAB, Bluetooth etc). It would also appear that one of the rear speakers isnt working correctly - it is always very quiet.

I can find very little info on the radio or common issues, but am pretty sure the amp is playing up. I believe it is all one unit that can be swapped out relatively easily, however I have read some info that suggests its coded to the car and so any swap will require a visit to the local ford dealer.

Can anyone shed any light on either the fault or the steps required to replace the radio?

Many thanks in advance!
