Hi. Ok well i have just watched James Mays Toy Stories and there was a bit about Scalextric on there. I did own a set it it was an F1 set with a Yardley car and a black one which i can remember what it was.

It got me thinking,in the back corner of my mind i can remember a type of slot car racing set i used to own(im 43) so were looking at about 1971'ishbut i have never ever seen it anywhere.

the track was grey (i think) like scalextric but without the metal contactors on the track. the track was slotted but running inside the slot was a long spring arrangemet that was driven round.

What you then did was stick a pin on the underside of your corgie or dinky car, the the pin stuck in the spring and you could race them roud.

Come on lads someone else must remember this. What was it called?

Na. dont think it was that, just looked it up and you can only race specific cars. The one im interested in is the one you can race any car from your toy box by sticling a plastic pin underneath

No not the JPS lotus (my favourite F1 car) it was a standard black car that come with the kit with white writing on OPU or UPO something like that.

Anyway were going off at a tangent here. Forget scalextric, Im interested in the slot racing set that was spring driven and you could put any car you had on it as long as you stuck a pin underneath
