No MOT for nearly a year

My tax disc is up for renewal beginning of next month. I decided to do it online like I've always done. Went through all the procedures and at the end it told me this vehicle does not have an up to date MOT So in other words I've been driving this car illegally. Called my Uncle whom I bought the car from and told him, no wonder you could not find the latest MOT certificate, it hasn't got one He replied he could have sworn he took it last July for it. I said when you only cover 1000 miles a year it's easy to forget I suppose.
It's funny that we get reminders about our car insurance and road tax, but nothing for the MOT. Got to get it booked in asap

You now can get text reminders for your MOT, it costs 1.50!

1.50 is not bad at all to send you 3 text reminders. I wont need this service as like many on this site I like to know every bit about my car from all aspects.

You have been lucky so far to have avoided being picked up on an ANPR camera. Do not take it on the road until you take it for a booked MOT.

My Uncle said he was stopped by the police last winter for speeding and they said nothing to him about having no MOT. Got it booked for Monday. Guy at work said my insurance is invalid till MOT is done also if I was caught without one its points on license and a fine
