Well, having stuck it out for six months I've sold the C Max. There was nothing really wrong with it, it just failed to impress me in whatever I tried to make it do.With hindsight I should have kept my Galaxy as I'd owned a number of them since 1995.X type Jag arrives on Friday...................Bye everyone.

Hi GrahamB

its a shame that you have given up on the c-max and that we are loosing you from the club.
To be honest ive only just recently rtd to the c-max due to the new 2010 model, i much prefer it to the older models!
Did you have a try in the new model?

I did have a look at the 2010 model and the Grand but neither grabbed me.What really did it was when we took my wife's 51 plate Focus Estate up to Yorkshire (From Kent), Five up plus luggage 'cos it wouldn't fit in the C Max.When we came back we both agreed that it was more comfortable than the C Max and performed better than the C Max. They are both 1600cc petrol models. After that the only Ford I seriously looked at was a focus estate and for just a little bit more, you can get an X Type!

It doesn't actually.Since I picked up the X Type I haven't stopped grinning and trying to find excuses to pop out in it.

I agree Graham,a mate of mine had an X-Type & loved it. I "borrowed" it a couple of times & really enjoyed driving it,the Mrs also liked it & expressed her desire to have one when the Max has run it`s course ( a while yet).
Don`t worry everyone,I`m not jumping ship as there`s plenty of (enjoyablel) miles left in the old Gal.

My C Max had done less than 13k. The Jag's done 71k but still feels a lot better. However, if you are happy with your C Max, keep it. I ran Ford Galaxy's for 15 years. I would go back but I just can't justify a car that big anymore. Plus cleaning things like the roof was becoming a major task.I guess it really comes under the heading of each to their own.

Plenty of miles left in the Mrs too!!!
The Mrs drives the CMax mostly as I use a V10 RS6 Avant (soon to be replaced with an RS3),as for the cleaning, well,I end up cleaning both ( for the Mrs,she gets a hose down every other day).
