Just celebrated the fifth birthday of an incredible car.
Nothing, but nothing has gone wrong with it since bought new, no warranty work, only cosumables, oil, tyres, brakes etc, over five very comfortable years, and I am glad that my original request for a 1.6 was not available so have the 1.8 LX.

I have had new company cars every three years since 1968 and never have I had such a trouble free vehicle, just as well as now retired and this is the first I have paid for myself. All those years from my first MII Cortina to the last Granada Scorpio there have been some good and some lemons but never a faultless Ford.

So far I have not used the forum or helproom but my luck can't last for ever so I'll keep an eye open on these posts for any likely troubles.

I have just bought a second-hand C-Max 05 54 plate Zetec with the 2.0 diesel engine. It has done 58,000 AND IS FANTASTIC.
I've just completed a 700 mile round trip and the economy, comfortable driving position and lack of any squeaks and rattles made the whole journey a real pleasure. I now look forward to long journeys.
I have also taken out the rear seats and used it as a van to carry rubbish to the local recycling centre.
Whatversatility.
The only gripe is that I want a second remote key and Ford want to charge over 100.Robbery!

If you google Ford Keys you will find a company that will come to you and set a new key up for you, the cheapest you can find is around 60, still a lot but as you have found out the main dealer charges about 16 for key and 100+ to programme it.

I have had a Mk1 Escort, Mk1 Capri, Mk4 Cortina, XR2, 3 Galaxy's and my present ‘57 C-Max 2.0 Titanium, this has been the best car I have had, in 3 years I have done 43,000 and never had a problem with it, ok the front tyres don't last but that's down to my driving.
8 weeks or so I am getting my new 2011 C-Max 5 seater 2.0 Titanium, I hope it will be as good as my present car.

So pleased you have the Xenon headlights, I had a difficult journey back through misty dark country roads a week ago and wished I had some on my C-Max, but I'm going to put some Extreme Brilliance bulbs in to see if that improves things, plus get garage to align them, they are too far dipped.

Not wishing to be a Jonah but I would be wary of a Spanish built Ford, my still fault free Max came from Ford Germany, perhaps they don't make them there anymore.

Not meaning to be a pedant ( but! ) C-Max is built in Genk, Belgium.
Spanish built Ka's and Fiesta fared OK, unlike Dagenham built Fiesta's which were absolutely appalling!!!

According to the german plates in my engine bay and also on the Ford manufacturing site, the C-Max has always been built at Saarlouis Germany, although only just inside the French border but definitely German.

Maybe other engines types than my 1.8 are finished off elsewhere.

I noted that the manufacture has started at Valencia, whether that is the total production or some models, Ford does not say whether Saarlois is stopping C-Max altogether.

My concerns about Valencia still stand, we shall see.
