I have posted this in someone else's post but please would someone with a 1.8 TDCi try this for me and let me know if they get a vibration in the car.
My car is a 1.8 TDCi 08 Plate Titaniumif that helps.
When the car is parked if you hold the throttle down and let it rev to 1100 RPM I get a vibration in the car I took it to my local Ford dealer and at first they told me my tyres were bold!!!! afterI explained that this would not effect anthing to do with engine vibration when stationary and that they were not bold anyway as the car had passed MOT 2 days before it went there, they then told me it was a caracturistic of the 1.8 TDCi and they all do it.
Please would someone try this as the car is out of warranty at the end of the month andI really don't want this to develope into something major after the warrenty runs out.

Would suggest engine mount which you need doing under warranty. If you can take it to nother ford dealer. It is concerning you have bald tyres though?

To the average driver \'safe\' is not having accidents. To an advanced driver \'safe\' is not being vunerable to an accident.

I don't have bald tyres not even close they're on 4mm, the dealer wanted to replace them for no reason at all, I took it to a tyre centre and asked them to check them and they said they were trying to rip me off.

Hi Matt, never trust dealers where tyres are concerned,They told me I needed new ones all round & in reality, they lasted 2 more MOT`s.
Sorry can`t advise about the engine prob, though do go to a different garage & get a proper. verdict.
Please let us know how you get on.

I use PJ Nicholls at Tewkesbury for my servicing and repairs- a family owned ford dealership - they seem pretty straight and honest - Not that far up the M5 from bristol for a secondopinion.

Hi Matt started car up and held revs at 1100 rpm. As I thought there is no vibration at all. I too would suspect an engine mounting is the cause..........

I've taken the C Max back to the dealer, but this time a technician came out to try the fault whilst I was with him, and he thinks that the dual mass flywheel is breaking up.
Will let you know when I get the car back what has been done.
