Nah mate! Got to be a "Brit" even though that Rover 3.5 is actually a Buick lump the Yanks thought was too "small". The then Rover Company bought the rights to it and made it theirs. I think they managed to get it up over 4.5 Litres in the end. Must have been around in one shape or form for 30 years or more. Yank Tanks are OK until you come to a corner, although they're supposed to be better now!
I once saw a Capri that someone had dropped a Ford V8 into. I think they actually built them with V8s for some markets. S Africa and Aussie maybe. The old Sunbeam Tiger must have been some mover. Rootes put a Ford V8 into the Sunbeam Alpine to create a British "Muscle Car", but when Chrysler bought Rootes, they killed the project because apparently their own V8 wouldn't fit, and they didn't want a competitors engine in one of their products.
