Hi all,

I brought myC-Max in November 2006, and being an ex Ford Management car it came with only 4450 miles on the clock. Leather heated and electronic seats, Sony 6 disc autochanger with voice activated bluetooth, privacy glass, front and rear parking sensors. Oh and I saved almost 33% on list price (and that was through a main dealer - brought on Ford Direct).

The car has nowdone just short of 41,000 and the only problem has been with the EPB (electronic parking brake), which has given me the 'Limited EPB Function' msg on the dash. This has fortunately been fixedtwice under warranty, however the car is currently in again with the same problem.

That is the only problem I have had so far.

> Apart from that I love the way car drives.
> The high driving position is always a plus.
> The stereo works brilliantly and the sound quaility is great.
> The Flexi seating isgreat toowith the ability to fold, roll and remove the rear seats independently.
> The fuel economy isn't brilliant at about 28.5mpg just purely urban driving. however on regular 30-40 mile daily runs up and down the motorway it has been as high as 36.5.
> The kids love having their own built in roller blinds on the rear door windows and the foldup trays with drinks holders for when they watch DVDs (separate item).
> Also having the additional power socket in the rear of the centre console is a bonus for plugging in either the DVD player or for them to use to power their games machines.
> There is plenty of storage space front and rear for all the odds and ends family cars also collect.

Well that's about it really. I do really enjoy driving the car and would definitely buy another, however I woulddefinitely look atthe diesel next time as we quite regularly do long trips.

FinallyI have to say that I wouldn't think twice about recommending the car to anyone else, and I'm looking forward to the new model coming out some time next year.

I would say....never buy a BRAND new one, alwaysget yourself apre-registered model (less than six months old) that way you could saveup to 7000 like I did

I hope it all helps, and happy motoring.

I echo your comments - mine is a 2006 2.0 Ghia Auto that was ex-Motability and advertised on eBay. Just now coming up to 3 years old (don't want to think about why it might have been traded in early - 3 years is the norm) and it had done just under 5k miles when I picked it up last month. That's not a typo - less than 2k miles a year average and faithfully and fully serviced! Price was v good too.

Not got all of the toys mentioned below, but enough for me - and I agree with all the plus-points, it's a lovely car with an ideal driving position. I get about 40 mpg on a run - around 30-35 otherwise, which I don't think is too bad at all, considering I have a reasonably heavy right foot.

I miss the left-side armrest I had in the Focus Estate - the centre console armrest isn't high enough for comfortable use on the move. Maybe I could fit a focus seat?

I wish there was a dash-mounted socket outlet for sat-nav charging - the one in the centre console is a rubbish location!

I have a niggle about how the drive seems to re-engage when the car comes to a halt - covered in a separate posting, so hope this may be resolved by one of the club experts!

Everything else is terriffic!!!!

Top advice here, cheers guys. I bought my 2004 Zetec 1.8 petrol new. It has lost a lot of money worth about 2.5 k now I think due to the 120,000 miles on it so buying nearly new is a good decision. You both have a lot of mileage left in yours and I can confirm mine has only had service items replaced. I didn't buy the Ghia model at the time BECAUSE it had the EPB. I did intend keeping the car so thought what's wrong with the normal handbrake?? The EPB just seemed overly complicated to me. Hope you get your issues resolved with it. Interestingly, Ford do not offer the EPB in the Titanium C-Max - I reckon 'cos of the reliablity worries.

Many people who used AP2's will love it along the time. Titleist AP2 irons of golf clubs for sale provide a comfortable and confidence-inspiring appearance in the set up position with a traditional blade profile and hosel junction(ishiner).

Hi, Regarding this, I use a 4 way adapter with 1/2m Cable on it, run it to the O/S of drivers seat, route Sat-Nav wiring behind the Door Seal on the A Pillar and on the floor and place theAdapter in the useless little cubby compartment next to the seat!.
I think an Aux power point in the Dash mounted cubby hole would be good, Transit has!

Hi
I bought my cmax auto ghia last month, a 3 year old ex motability car with 24000 on clock - we are fortunate in having a dealer here who specialises in ex channel island and ex motability scheme cars, so always a good selection.
No problems, just one niggle - where can I ge a replacement catch for the lower ashtray in the rear of the arm rest - mine has been broken off.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
