Don't know if this is of any help, but my camera will quit if I put something in that bumps into hatch while driving. [2 liter sodas for example] Suspect latch is a little out of adjustment & gives camera hatch ajar signal but not dash warning. Works fine after removal of culprit upon restart. Does hatch have any "play" when shut? Could you get a brave soul to push on hatch when putting car in reverse [emergency brake & foot on brake please} & see if if it makes a difference. If it helps you may have better idea on cause [adjustment will be a lot cheaper than replacement cameras}. Hope this helps, really just a guess on my part, don't hold it against me if I'm wrong.
